How It Works

Objective

Seven distinct tetromino shapes fall from the top of the well one at a time. Move and rotate each piece so it fits neatly with the others. When a horizontal row is completely filled, it clears and everything above drops down. The game ends when the stack reaches the top.

Controls

  • / A - Move left
  • / D - Move right
  • / S - Soft drop (move down faster)
  • / W - Rotate piece
  • SPACE - Hard drop (instant drop)
  • P - Pause / resume
  • R - Restart game

Scoring

  • 1 line: 100 × level points
  • 2 lines: 300 × level points
  • 3 lines: 500 × level points
  • 4 lines (Tetris): 800 × level points
  • Hard drops award a small bonus per cell dropped.

Levels & Speed

Every 10 cleared lines advances you to the next level. Each level makes the pieces fall faster, so clearing multiple lines at once becomes both more rewarding and more difficult. Your best score is saved in your browser and persists between visits.

Tips

  • Keep the stack flat and low. avoid building tall towers with gaps.
  • Watch the Next piece to plan two moves ahead.
  • Leave one column open on the side to set up a four-line Tetris with the I-piece.
  • Use the hard drop to lock pieces quickly once you are confident of placement.
